Pre-publish: real employer, real role, real pay
Before a listing ever appears on the site, three things have to be true:
- Real employer. The hiring company exists, is operating in Northwest Ohio, and has someone authorized to hire for the role. We confirm via the employer's career page, LinkedIn, or a direct contact.
- Real opening. The role is currently active. We cross-check the employer's own ATS (Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, iCIMS, BambooHR, JazzHR, etc.) when one is publicly accessible. For employers using internal systems, we email a single confirmation question to the hiring contact and wait for a yes.
- Real pay range. Every listing has a published pay range. No "competitive salary." No DOE. If the employer won't share a range, the listing doesn't run.
Re-verify: every 7 days, automatically
After a listing goes live, it enters a re-verification cycle. Every seven days, our system re-checks the ATS or re-confirms with the employer.
- Still active — the listing stays live with an updated "Verified [date]" stamp.
- Filled or pulled — the listing is archived with a "Position Filled" label. It doesn't disappear; it shows that the process worked.
- No response from employer — after a 48-hour grace period, the listing is paused pending manual review.
Why this matters
National job boards have a ghost-job problem because their incentives reward listings volume, not listing quality. We picked the opposite incentive: every listing on this site is one we'd be embarrassed to find out wasn't real. That's why the verification is in the brand name.
